Elon Musk’s Children: Growing Up in the Front Row of History
Elon Musk’s children have had a front-row seat to experiences most can only dream of—rubbing shoulders with world leaders, stepping into SpaceX’s high-tech control rooms, and witnessing groundbreaking innovations firsthand.
More than just spectators, they’ve been ever-present by their father’s side, accompanying him through his ventures in technology, business, and now, politics. Their presence has become a familiar sight in Washington, D.C., especially since former President Donald Trump appointed Musk to spearhead the newly established Department of Government Efficiency.
Elon Musk’s four-year-old son, affectionately known as “Lil X,” made a charming appearance at the White House on Wednesday, casually hanging onto the corner of the iconic Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. Dressed in a stylish tan pea coat and collared shirt, he effortlessly stole the spotlight.
The following day, X and two of his siblings shared a heartfelt moment with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, exchanging gifts while their father engaged in high-level discussions on technology and innovation with the esteemed leader.
Even before his high-profile visits to Washington, Elon Musk was often seen with his children by his side. They’ve accompanied him to a meeting with the President of Turkey, a solemn memorial service at the Auschwitz concentration camp, and a prestigious Time magazine ceremony, where Musk was honored as the 2021 Person of the Year.
But why do Musk’s children often accompany him?
According to Kurt Braddock, a professor of public communication at American University, their presence is likely a strategic move. “The inclusion of the kids in many public appearances is very much a politician’s tactic—it helps him appear more personable and adds a human touch to how the public perceives him,” Braddock explains.
